Youth Volunteers in Your Organization

Have you thought of using young volunteers to help your organization grow? They are eager to learn, and can do a LOT more than stuff envelopes or program your office DVD player! Providing students with meaningful volunteer opportunities allows them to gain valuable experience and provides you and your staff with the opportunity to use their infectious energy and up-to-date knowledge.

Most kids have tons of experience with todays’ technology. After all, they’ve been brought up with it! Maybe you could use the assistance of a young techno-wizard to help you create a company blog or put a new slant on your organizations’ web site. Sometimes the young volunteer can help from the convenience of his/her own home which would allow for the flexibility that’s needed when working with today’s youth.

Giving a student the opportunity to volunteer within your organization provides an invaluable learning experience for any youth. Experiences that help kids learn the satisfaction of being a valued, contributing part of their community and could lead to an understanding of good citizenship, tolerance, and maybe even a life-long commitment to volunteering.
