The Information and Volunteer Centre for Strathcona County extends an invitation to all residents and businesses to celebrate Volunteer Spirit Day Wednesday, April 21, 2010.

Volunteer Spirit Day is the day during National Volunteer Week (Apr.18–24, 2010) that has been set aside for individuals to take pride and promote their voluntary involvement with an organization of choice by wearing a simple label which displays their efforts.

The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of the value of volunteering. It also provides opportunities for businesses and individuals to share their stories of volunteer involvement.

We will provide “I Volunteer With” nametags for you and your co-workers/staff at no cost. We would then ask you to distribute and wear the nametags on April 21, 2010. This will allow for opportunities to have fun sharing and talking about volunteer involvement. There will be space on the nametags for individuals to write in the organization they volunteer with.

Should you wish to participate with Volunteer Spirit Day in Strathcona County please contact our office for further information.
