Silent Auction Protocol

  • Bidders need to register at the Silent Auction Registration prior to bidding; photo identification will be required to receive a bid number
  • Each item will have a minimum bid amount. Bids must increase by the specified minimum amount on the Bid Sheets
  • Bid sheets will remain in place until bid closing on Sunday, November 20, 2011 @ 5:00 pm at which time Festival of Trees volunteers will collect the bid sheets
  • The highest bid will be the “winner” of the item unless the item still has active bidders. If this occurs, a member of the Festival of Trees committee will act as Auctioneer and the parties involved will be able to continue bidding on the item until there is a final “winner”
  • Successful bidders will be contacted by phone on Sunday, November 20, 2011 between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. You must be available by phone at this time
  • No items shall be removed from the Sales Site until payment has been made in full. Items leaving the site must be approved by a member of the Festival of Trees
  • Terms of payment available are cash, Visa, Mastercard and cheque (with 2 pieces of ID) – All sales are final
  • All items/goods are sold AS IS and must be picked up at the site. No warranty is implied or otherwise exists in relation to any items/goods offered for auction
  • The Festival of Trees will supply the original tree box and tree bag for each tree; any containers required for tree ornaments must be supplied by the successful bidder
  • Successful bidders are responsible for the transportation of their purchased items
  • Successful bidders must pick up their items on Sunday, November 20, 2011 between 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Any items not claimed during this time frame will become Festival of Trees’ property and will be resold to the next highest bidder (unless prior arrangements have been made)
  • All trees can be picked up from the County Hall East Plaza 30 minute parking area
