IVC begins search for new Executive Director Posted on Feb 11, 2017 in
To Key Stakeholders, Partners, and Clients of the IVC
This is to inform you that Klay Dyer, Executive Director of the Information and Volunteer Centre, has tendered his resignation. We congratulate Klay in his appointment to the position of Manager, Alberta Glycomics Centre at the University of Alberta. Klay will be taking on his new position on March 1st, 2017.
The Board of the IVC received Klay’s resignation on February 8th at a regular Board meeting. The Board recognized Klay for his significant contribution to the work of the IVC in Strathcona County during his time as Executive Director. The Board expressed their thanks to Klay and the full team at the IVC in their enthusiastic adoption of change at IVC in recent years; Klay and the team have made substantial progress in improving and extending the services provided by the IVC to Strathcona County — the people of the county as well as non-profits across the county.
The Board agreed to move as quickly as reasonable to find a new Executive Director. The Board chair along with the standing IVC Human Resources Committee will begin work immediately on a replacement process; we would reasonably expect to have a new Executive Director in April or May.
As you may recall, the Board of the IVC adopted a revised strategic plan in 2013 which guided a more entrepreneurial approach to the delivery of our services to the community — a strategy to work closely with others (non-profits, business, volunteers, governments) in order to enhance and extend our services. The Board continues to endorse this strategic direction and will, in the hiring process, seek a candidate that can best support the continued delivery of success in our mission.
During the (hopefully brief) period between Klay’s departure and his replacement’s arrival, the Board (and particularly the Chair and Vice-Chair) will work closely with the staff of the IVC to ensure continued quality service delivery.
The Board sincerely thanks Klay for his strong contribution and wishes him well in this new work. We thank all of you for your continued cooperation and collaboration as the IVC undertakes one more transition.
