IVC names new Executive Director Posted on Apr 7, 2017 in
The Board of Directors of the Information and Volunteer Centre (IVC) for Strathona County is pleased to announce that Judy Ferguson has been selected as their new executive director. Judy will officially join us on Monday, April 10th, 2017. We are confident that Judy’s experience, knowledge and integrity are a great match for the work, staff, partners and clients of IVC, and, together, we will continue to advance our mission in our local community.
Judy brings a wide range of skills and experiences to the IVC. Most recently, she worked as Executive Director for the Voice of Albertans with Disabilities where she worked carefully with them to take steps to ensure future financial stability in the delivery of their strategic goals. Judy also brings significant experience working with two rural development non-profit organizations in Alberta as well as with two influential industry associations earlier in her career – the Urban Development Institute – Calgary and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Edmonton. These experiences will further enable the IVC to serve both the rural and urban parts of Strathcona County effectively.
I hope you will join with the IVC’s staff and Board in welcoming Judy to our organization. We look forward to introducing her to you in the coming weeks and months. The upcoming Volunteer Week Kick Off Breakfast (April 24th) featuring social entrepreneur Barbara Stegemann, is an ideal opportunity to meet Judy while celebrating volunteerism in the County. Please contact the IVC offices at 780-464-4242 for information and tickets.
