Thanking Volunteers…during National Volunteer Week (April 18–24) and throughout the year!

At our March Network Breakfast we will be sharing lots of tips and ideas for recognizing volunteers. It will be a collaborative morning where we will be telling each others plans and what has worked for each of us, how we all decide what we are doing and how we make it all meaningful. Even if you have been doing this for a long time we can all learn something new by sharing with each other.

Come on out and join us for a wonderful networking and learning event. Continental Breakfast is provided and the entire event is free for all!

Please RSVP (so we can ensure we have sufficient brekkie) to our office at 780–464-4242 or email info@ivcstrathcona.org

CSGVP 2007 asked Albertans how they gave money, volunteered, and participated in charitable and nonprofit/voluntary sector organizations.

Acclaimed by hundreds of nonprofits as a tremendous source of reliable information on volunteering and donating, Volunteer Alberta’s presentation of the most recent CSGVP (2007 data released in June 2009) reveals answers to where the volunteers are, is it true that youth are not engaged, who gives how much and why Albertans give $$!

Karen Lynch presents this data in a style that decodes the ‘stats’ to better understand emerging trends, challenges and opportunities, and debunks ‘myths’ about Alberta’s volunteers, donors and nonprofit/voluntary sector organizations.

Participants will learn…

… what are the demographics of Alberta’s volunteers?

… how much and how often do Albertans donate?

… how can your organization attract more volunteers?

… why do Albertans volunteer?

… what are some barriers to volunteering?
